Camilla Eyring Kimball Professorships

The Camilla E. Kimball professorship is awarded to four faculty in the College of Family, Home, and Social Sciences with continuing faculty status and the rank of associate or full professor. The Professorship honors and supports distinguished professional contributions to strengthen home and family life. Recipients have an excellent record of scholarship, teaching, and citizenship. The Professorship includes an annual salary stipend and an annual support award that may be used for enhancing research, teaching, and outreach education related to strengthening home and family life. The professorship is awarded for a five-year term. Current Kimball professors include: Bruce Chadwick (Sociology), Randal Day (School of Family Life), Tim Heaton (Sociology), and Thomas Holman (School of Family Life).

Camilla Eyring Kimball Visiting Scholars

Scholars from around the world who have strong scholarly reputations in areas related to understanding and strengthening home and family are invited to campus for two to three days to share their expertise with BYU faculty and students. While on campus, the scholar consults with BYU faculty members across disciplines on matters related to on-going, significant research projects. In addition, the scholar has significant contact with undergraduate and graduate students across disciplines, including publicized lectures, presentations in classes, etc.

Family-Focused Research and Scholarship

Funds from the Camilla Eyring Kimball Chair have also been used to support on-going research by faculty in and affiliated with the School of Family Life in areas related to home and family.
